TRANSITIONING INTO AUTUMN:  Lung, Large Intestine and the Metal Element

As we transition into the Yin time of year, we move more inward.  This is the time of year we begin to restore and replenish our energetic body from the Yang expressions – the busyness – of Summer.  If we do not replenish, we may lack the energy to take advantage of the growth that comes in the Spring.

It is important to build Lung Qi at this time of year. We are better able to stave off respiratory illnesses.  In Chinese Medicine, the Lung represents held grief in our lives.  We also want to move through grief before moving into Winter.  This is accomplished through Qigong forms coordinated with long, slow breath patterns.
